Amy Alberts is a Graduate Intern and Research Assistant at the Brazelton Institute, Children's Hospital. She is the Research Data Coordinator for the Early Intervention Study, which is examining the effects of the Clinical Neonatal Behavioral Assessment Scale on clinician-parent rapport, parent-infant relationship, as well as the parents' understanding of their baby and sense of confidence as a parent. This research project is born out of collaboration between the Brazelton Institute and the North Shore ARC. In addition, Amy contributes to and manages the Brazelton Institute's online newsletter, Ab Initio.
Amy is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development, Tufts University. She received a B.A. degree in Psychology from Clark University and a M.A. degree in Child Development with a concentration in Clinical-Developmental Psychology from Tufts University. Her interest in the transition to parenthood and early family life is reflected in her work as a research consultant for the Families Through Time Project at Clark University. She is also a Research Assistant for the 4-H Longitudinal Study of Positive Youth Development at Tufts University. Her other areas of interest include contextual influences on parenting and adolescent development, outreach scholarship for promoting positive youth development, the family system, and spiritual development.
