On October 21, 2005, Yvette Blanchard and Kevin Nugent offered an NBO training session to 30 health care professionals in Quèbec, Canada. The group was composed of nurses, pediatricians, administrators, early intervention providers and academic educators. Geneviève Lafleur and France Poliquin were also certified on the NBAS during the same week. Madeleine Granger, who was originally trained on the NBAS with Nicole Smolla more than 20 years ago by Dr. Gloria Jéliu, spearheaded this effort. Monik St-Pierre, administrator in public health in greater Quèbec City, was instrumental in the success of this project through her continued administrative and organizational support. Ms. Granger's vision in ensuring continuity for this approach after her retirement is now assured with this new group of dynamic and compassionate professionals.
