Ms. Beth McManus is the developmental specialist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Brigham and Women's Hospital. She is a board-certified pediatric physical therapist. She is a Doctor of Science Candidate in Developmental Epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health.
Ms. McManus received her Master's in Physical Therapy at Boston University and a Master of Public Health in Maternal and Child from Boston University School of Public Health. Her clinical experience encompasses a variety of settings including Early Intervention, school system, and hospital-based clinics. In addition, she is also a clinical instructor for the pediatric curriculum in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program and the Maternal and Child Health department at Boston University.
Ms. McManus' research interests include the effects of early intervention on ameliorating neurodevelopmental outcomes associated with low birth weight, prematurity and fetal growth restriction. She is also interested in the social, nutritional, and physical determinants of adverse birth outcomes as well as the intersection between women's perinatal health and early childhood development.
