PHILIPPINES: In Manila earlier this year, Dr. J. Kevin Nugent and Dr. Nittaya Kotchabhakdi trained eleven neonatologists and one pediatrician from the Philippines as NBAS examiners. The training program was co-sponsored by the Philippine Pediatric Society and Johnson and Johnson (Philippines). The Philippine Pediatric group have their own beautifully designed newsletter, STIMULUS, which describes their work with the NBAS. It is edited by Dr. Joey Salazar.
KOREA: In Keimyung University, Taegu, six new NBAS examiners were certified this summer. Dr. Yeounghee Shin and her colleagues plan to conduct a normative study of Korean newborn behavior and development.
